Everything while on the ground in Guatemala other than souvenirs
Including: lodging, transportation while in Guatemala, food

Do I need any vaccines?

We recommend all participants first consult their primary care provider before receiving any vaccinations. A travel clinic will be able to give you information for what is required and recommended for travel to Guatemala

Do I book my own airfare?

Yes, you will need to arrive in Guatemala city by 1pm on the first Saturday of the trip so that you can catch the bus to Antigua for tourism day

What is the lodging set up in Guatemala?

Specific lodging is dependent on availability 
Potters House, our partners in Guatemala, set up the lodging accommodations
Each room is a double room
You will have a roommate
We take requests for roomates into consideration, however, there are many factors that Tesoro considers when determining room assignments

I don’t speak Spanish, can I still come on the trip?

Yes! We provide translators to assist with communication

Do I need to exchange my money for local currency?

Accepted Answer

The local currency in Guatemala is a quetzal. Exchanging money in the airport is not recommended. Most stores will take credit cards or American dollars; if American dollars are used, then change is usually given in quetzals. If you wish to have some quetzals, you can withdraw from an ATM in Antigua after arriving
